Good wishes!

First let me express, my gratitude, to Deccan Psychiatric association for giving me this responsibility, of Presidentship of DPA for 2021-2023. With your kind Support & guidance, I will justify this responsibility.

Decan Psychiatric association, is organization of psychiatrists and Mental Health workers, from south Maharashtra and north Karnataka, region. It was formed with Moto of upgrading, practical application of Academic knowledge.

I congratulate to, all recent past, office bearers, who, under the presidentship of Dr. Sudhir Gaikwad, performed excellence of DPA. Dr. Govind Kulkarni, a dynamic past secretary, who initiated many new activities, and maintained discipline of organization. He and Dr. Niwant Harale worked together and got MMC credit points for DPA-CME. Dr. Anand Anuse, who handled Profit / Loss of DPA and made it economically better.

I am very fortunate to have enthusiastic young office bearers in my team.
Dr. Padmaraj Patil, present secretary, who was president of KPA, will definitely work with his best for DPA.  DR. Rakesh Belgudri, new treasurer of DPA, will, surely maintain, economic growth of DPA.  Executive committee members are, Dr. Nitin Patil/ Dr. niwant harale / Dr. Sharad Kshirsagar, / Dr. Sameer Mangalwede / Dr. Bhimsen Tekkalaki / Dr. Narayan Mutalik. These EC members will execute DPA work in well mannered.

I congratulate all of them.
Practical application of knowledge is important for private practitioners.
We will maintain this Academic feast in upcoming years and help to upgrade our knowledge.

Annual cme will be conducted as per protocol. Also organizing topic wise online discussion will help to uphold the topic. P G activities will be useful for PG students and members of medical colleges.

DPA is not only an organization, but a family. To maintain this familial environment in DPA, we will conduct non-academic entertainment activities, Which will be enlightened as ‘DPA HAS TALENT’.

Recently child psychiatry is handled by a pediatrician, more than psychiatrist.  Paediatricians, with short psychiatric courses, practicing as child psychiatrists. Paediatrician’s colleagues support them. Awareness programme for GPs, and society will help us to maintain our hold on child psychiatry. We DPA, will support the social awareness activities of any DPA member.

Recently in spite of stigma, Psychiatric practice is more direct than referred. We psychiatrists, should, tirelessly develop society’s positive attitude, toward psychiatry and psychiatrist, by education / awareness programme.

The Mental Health care act is about to be implemented. There are pros and cons to it. To understand it thoroughly, we will have a discussion session on it. 

Health insurance for Psychiatric Disorders, will help patients to seek psychiatric help. IPS is pursuing its implementation.

Guidance and blessing, from, Past presidents, DR. N. M. PATIL / DR. P.M. CHOUGULE / DR U.K. GHATAGE will help me to execute decisions. Lastly once again thank you, for your faith in me as president.
